Every Rolex watch has a story........Often when I meet people, I ask them about their watch. First thing they tell me about isn’t the reference number or what caliber movement is, they tell me the story behind it. Often it was purchased or received in celebration of an important moment in that person’s life.
Watches are a special purchase no matter what the price point. If you think about the greatest gifts you’ve ever given, odds are they include a watch. That’s partly because almost every other gift you can give someone gets disposed of eventually. Even if you give someone a car, it won’t last forever. A watch, however, is a personal gift that last for the wearer’s entire lifetime and beyond, through future generations. It’s giving someone the gift of time.
Whether you receive it as a gift or you personally make the purchase, a watch that signifies an graduation, a marriage, or a success in business tells a story......And every time one checks the time, he or she is reminded of that.
My latest watch obsession.....The Rolex Submariner.....because #realwomenwearbigwatches!
The Rolex Submariner’s functional design swiftly became iconic. With it's subtly redesigned Oyster case, distinctive dial with large luminescent hour markers, graduated rotatable Cerachrom bezel and solid link Oyster bracelet, this is the latest generation Submariner Date, the original model was launched in 1953.
Only the best for Rolex......
Rolex uses 904L stainless steel for its steel watch cases, no one else in the industry uses this technology on their watch's .....Why you ask? Because 904L is mainly used in the high technology, aerospace and chemical industries, where maximum resistance to corrosion is essential. A superalloy, 904L is extremely resistant and highly polishable. It maintains its beauty even in the harshest environments. It also means it's more expensive to use. Rolex only makes and uses the best materials for their timepieces.
Another example is the Ceramic bezels they are extremely durable. They are scratch resistant and “nearly indestructible” according to Rolex. Rolex has stated that they made the switch to ceramic because of the longevity of these bezels. One of the hallmarks of Rolex watch is how long it lasts so these new bezels add a new dimension. In addition to durability and longevity these bezels have a distinctive shine that, for many, are leaps and bonds above the traditional bezels.
The maxi black dial that sets the tone........
The dial is the face of a Rolex watch, one of the features most responsible for its identity and readability. Hour markers are made of 18 ct gold to prevent tarnishing, every Rolex dial is designed and manufactured in-house, largely by hand to ensure perfection.
The Oyster bracelet is designed to be both functioal and comfortable, the Oysterlock clasp, which prevents accidental opening, and an Glidelock, allowing fine adjustments of the bracelet with no tools needed.... allowing it to be worn comfortably over a diving suit.
This model is equipped with calibre 3135, a self-winding mechanical movement entirely developed and manufactured by Rolex. I don't believe there is any other watch brand that can make that claim..... Like all Rolex Perpetual movements, the 3135 is a certified Swiss chronometer, a designation reserved for high-precision watches that have successfully passed the Swiss Official Chronometer Testing Institute (COSC) tests. It is fitted with a Parachrom hairspring, allowing greater resistance to shock and temperature variations.
So how better to tell your special story, but with Rolex , the watch that stands the test of time!
